I got a new Harddrive from Gateway, installed it, installed windows, everything works now, but about half my keys don't function at all. This happens with both the old and the new harddrives installed, so it's not a windows issue.
Anyone have any idea why swapping harddrives broke my keyboard or how to fix it?

Recheck the ribbon cable from keyboard to motherboard if you can see it or get to it. Relax your under warranty.
Please post back in the Gateway forum when you find out.

Above sounds good but do you have an external keyboard? If so see if it works. And as always "drivers" reinstall. I don't know your notebook but ribbon and HDD swapp? But anyway could be.

Ok, after Gateway told me there was nothing to do but send it away, I was able to find disassembly instructions (getting the keyboard of this thing is no easy task) Anyways, it appears to have fixed it
MORAL: P-6831FX can FUXX the keyboard when changing the HDD -
What did you find? Can you post the link to the disassembly instructions?
