    Hello,
I'm thinking on buying another CPU for my laptop, I want a good one, but I don't know which one my laptop support, the chipset is IntelĀ® PM45,

I was thinking on this one:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/Intel-Core-2-Extreme-Mobile-Processor-X9100-3-06G-6M_W0QQitemZ180319574314QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item180319574314&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A3|39%3A1|240%3A1318

    or this one

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Intel-Core-2-Extreme-Dual-Core-Mobile-CPU-X9100-3-06GHz_W0QQitemZ110340010569QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item110340010569&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A3|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Do anyone know if their a compatible with my laptop?
Also do anyone know how can I make the cooling system better so I can make some overclocking?

    and the last question,
what's the max ram supported? 4 or 8gb?

    Thank you very much!

The X9100 will work, I haven't seen results specific to the 7805u but the 7811FX (which is nearly identical) won't allow overclocking beyond 3ghz. If that remains the case you'd be better off with the T9800 as its nearly 3ghz and cheaper. If they ever allow overclocking beyond 3ghz the X9100 will start to become worth the money, but even then it runs hotter than the T9800 which could be a concern. There's not a whole lot you can do for the cooling system other than use a higher quality thermal paste when you replace the CPU and use a notebook cooler under the laptop.

Maximum supported ram is listed as 4gb, but PM45 does support 8, so its quite possible the laptop supports 8GB. However 8GB kits cost about 1000USD at the moment so I doubt you'll find anyone that has tried it yet.

i wouldn't bother with the x9100 as big mike said you cant overclock it (7805u uses the same BIOS as the 7811) and i don't see a bios update comeing that will allow it, but who knows. either way the t9800 should be plenty of horsepower. I am extremely happy with my t9600 from seller, extremeprocessor, on ebay! i got the qs version.

Get the T9800. A tad overclocking on that will soon find the limits of what your gateway allows; will easily reach 3ghz.

the bios does not allow overclocking... the fx series needs an xtreme cpu to overclock and even then can't go over 3ghz unless set by the manufacturer

ok, well I think I'm gonna think about it :p, but I think in the page of crucial it's cheaper, now I have 1 more less question, is this driver compatible?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/MATA-UJ-235-UJ-235A-Blu-Ray-SATA-DVD-Multi-Burner_W0QQitemZ350156662559QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_Drives_Storage_Internal?hash=item350156662559&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A3|39%3A1|240%3A1318
