Dear all,
I have just repasted my new laptop. I obtained better results with Gelid GC Extreme respect Kryonaout. Probably, because it is a more viscous paste and the heatsink is not perfectly flat.
Several people in this forum are using GCE.
I would like to know:
How long did it last for you?
Did you need to repaste at all?
Thanks

Gelid GC Extreme tends to dry out on weak fitting heatsinks or heatsinks with any sort of gaps or atrocious mounting pressure.
One user even tested Phobya Nanogrease Extreme and found that even that pumped out.
Coolermaster MasterGel Maker Nano (key is "maker" and "Nano") tends to last the longest in bad fitting heatsinks, even though the heat transfer isn't as good as Kryonaut, it's a very thick paste and quite good for these laptops. Recommended you try that if you can find it (easily available unless you're in a third world country).
Gelid GC Extreme is far more reliable on desktops than on laptops. It's a decent paste on video card heatsinks that are not convex or concave, however. But if you can buy both GC and CM Maker Nano, definitely buy the Maker Nano.

In this chart, it seems that Coolermaster Maker Nano is less viscous than GC Extreme.
The only "common" paste more viscous than GCE is IC Diamond. -
Have GC gelid, lasted for around 7 or 8 months until it started to degrade in temps.

I second that nanogreaseeven though its very thick, doesnt last. Even though my heatsink fit is decent. Mastergel maker nano works well for me. Kryonaut was okay, started out strong but it loses its edge after a couple of weeks and settles afterwards. ICD7 lasted years always for me but i had one of of my cpu dies a nasty stain from its abrasiveness.
