As stated before in this thread here. I need a replacement keyboard for my HP laptop

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...h-away-from-hp-to-another-brand.751947/page-3

I dont want to spend much on a replacement keyboard as new keyboards from HP and other sites are around $90 to $120 (backlit) but after googling around i found one on ebay for $46 but it is a generic one but looks exactly the same as the original but on the back its black and not sliver like the original. I was wondering whats the difference between them in terms of quality and it is best to buy a replacement from a legit site instead of generic keyboards that comes from china on ebay?

    Thanks in Advance

@KING19 they're usually pretty much the same. Just get the cheapest.

I bought a generic one for an old HP Pavilion. It cost me around $10 shipped. It's an old laptop though so I'd rather not spend too much on it. A couple of the markings on the keys are imperfect but otherwise it works fine. For a newer laptop, I'd rather get a genuine replacement part, but when the price of a genuine part is more than double compared to a generic part, I may just take the risk on the generic :D.

I see, i think i'll go with a generic one if i can find a good one, by the looks of them they look exactly the same as the original genuine ones

Hope the keys feels the same as the original and not cheaply made.

Still sucks i would have to remove the motherboard just to replace the keyboard :(
