Not my title but the title of an article by Laptopmag that highlights the benefits of SSDs.

    Get an SSD, You Putz!

Just got mine recently and it's great, everything seems more responsive. The best part though, is when something is using the drive (say, a file copy) and you open an application. On my old HDD it'd slow to a crawl but the SSD feel as it's affected at all.

    Lol...

The first few comments at the end of the article are more real world than the article itself.

I think 'Putz' describes any tech writer who recommends SSD primary storage as a data preservation safeguard.

If it's important, you must have a backup copy, no matter what your primary media is.

LOL the best part was the traditional HDD sitting in the trashcan.

    Great find Phil!

I am sure SSD's are great but the benefit is seriously outweighed by its price. A 480GB SSD costs over £1000 while I can get a 1TB mechanical drive for £74. When the speed of SSD's are no longer rivaled by the speed of my bank balance rapidly declining then I am all for it.

As with any emerging technology, the more it is mass produced the cheaper it will get.

And i'm sure you never tryed the benefit from a SSD, that would definately change your mind.
I bet my slow laptop starts up whatever i need faster than yours, that's how good it is! Besides, external storage is a great solution. Or a slimline sata drive caddy to put a second hard drive in.

A mechanical hard drive slugs down a computer by ALOT.
