    Good morning,

I have been building PCs for quite some years but I am quite new to laptop upgrades.
As a consequence my question may seem quite lame ;-)

Getac B300 machine's form factor seems quite unchanged and many components can fit all models
from at least the B300-X. Looking at the enclosure, it looks like it is the same with screws exactly at the same location among laptop generations

Thus I would like to know if it would be possible to upgrade a B-300x to a G4 or beyond B300 motherboard and screen ?

Then comes my second question: To ensure that the enclosure remains watertight, are there any steps to be taken on the rings/water seals ?

    Thanks in advance,
    Lionel

If watertight is a requirement; buy the model that you want/need (complete) and sell what you now have.

With the inexperience you hint at; it goes beyond just the differences from desktops to notebooks...

    Good luck.
