I need to access the top of the mother board of a Sony Vaio PCG-NV190 laptop. I have searched the web, reviewed the service manual and talked to some knowledgeable friends but have been unable to figure out how to remove the Assy Hood Keyboard and thus the keyboard :( . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the service manual shows you how to remove the keyboad, and you still cannot, I suggest you take the machine to a local computer repair shop and have them look at it. Taking out a keyboard is not the hardest thing in the world to do to a laptop, and if you're having trouble with that even with the service manual, I would not go digging any further into it myself seeing as how everything else will be much harder than a simple keyboard removal

Thanks. The service manual indicates that in order to remove the keyboard I need to remove a piece Sony calls the "Assy Hood Keyboard" which, among other things hold the speakers. However the service manual does not indicate how one can go about removing the Assy Hood Keyboard. That is what I am hoping to find out on this forum.

Any ideas would greatly be appreiciated.

I'd take it to a computer shop. I wouldn't risk damaging your laptop if your not sure how to do it.
