Hi,
I'm a gamer and I'm going to buy a laptop in the near future, but looking at the customiseable options raises 2 questions:
1) Is it worth paying 190 dollar more to upgrade from 2 Ghz to a 2.16 Ghz
or should I keep saving another 415 dollars to upgrade to an 2.33 Ghz or will a 2.00 system be sufficient?
2) Is it worth to pay 125 dollar more for hard drive with 7200 rpm or is 5200 fast enough?
I want to keep my notebook for a 2 to 3 years without buying another one, or can u easily upgrate these components?

1) 2.0 Ghz will be good. You won't notice the increase to 2.16Ghz.
2) I would upgrade to 7200rpm. My 5400rpm hard drive was the main thing that slowed my laptop up while gaming.
Just make sure you get 2.0GB of ram as well and you should be set.

A faster HDD is a better upgrade than a faster CPU. A 5400rpm HDD will be a bottleneck to overall performance, as RAM won't be able to get data and send it to the CPU. I personally think you should go for a 7200rpm HDD and a 2Ghz CPU. If you can afford it, a 2.5Ghz CPU will show a big performance increase, but there wont a huge difference between a 2.0 and 2.16Ghz CPU.

Tnx for the great advice!
