I have an old Dell 600m lying around and figured I'd use the RAM i took out of my Inpiron 1520 (1GB, 2x512MB) and put it in the 600m (hoping it has 2 slots for RAM)!

Question is, the 600m has DDR RAM, whereas the new RAM is DDR2 - how can I check if the 600m can utilize hte DDR2 or not? I looked through the insturction manual online and didn't see anything.

    Thanks!

DDR and DDR2 slots are not compatible with each other, so a DDR2 memory wont fit into a slot designed for DDR and vice versa.

Yep your motherboard and chipset don't even support DDR2.

the pin layout should not match in the first place. your motherboard will not support DDR2.
