    Hi guys,
I am going to buy two sticks of RAM in the next few days, currently have 2GB of high performance RAM, going to buy 2 Crucial2GB sticks. I THOUGHT I had 4 slots on my mobo for 4 sticks of RAM, sothat I could keep my current 2GB sticks and therefore have 6GB, but now I think I'm mistaken...
Can anyone tell me what the 2 smaller slots are next to the RAM slots

It's hard for anyone to help when you haven't said what the laptop is.

This thread belongs in the hardware section of the forum.

Just as an FYI, Crucial memory is a little on the expensive side. I switched from them to G.Skill and found G.Skill to be even more reliable as well as faster AND stable when overclocked by large amounts... I remember back when I had some DDR2-800 running at 1150MHz with timings at 800 speed. Phenomenal stuff.

Also, if you are buying DDR3, pick up an 8GB stick for about $30 from newegg, and it will leave you options in the future if you only have 2 slots. The 16GB DDR3-1600 10-10-10 is only about $70 if you want to go full bore and have dual channel. Otherwise pick up 2x4GB at least. DDR3 is cheap, enjoy it while you can ;)

And yes, not knowing anything about your laptop leaves us unable to offer any real help.

as Tmets asked, what laptop have you got as some high end laptops have two slots in the base and two under the keyboard.
