Considering its an ES (which is legally not allowed to be resold), and that he's going to circumvent taxes/fees by shipping with a much lower value...

    This guy's basically a crook...I wouldn't buy.

What is the difference between a engineering sample and a retail version, just the designation or actual build differences?

    I wouldn't either.

Shipped with worth of $50, meaning well, the package is insured for $50.

Paypal buyer's protection= Up to $200, it should at least be as much as the worth of what you buy.

Well, he might be honest, but with 97.7% of reputation + only $200 as protection, I think it's bit risky

I have been talking to the same person on ebay and wanted to buy the X7900 and he said he would sell it to me for 375 and then the next day he said 475. I dont trust him.

He's already been reported for trying to skirt custom's fees.

The main difference...ES chips are 'almost ready' chips that may or may not be the final versions.
