i am trying to find a good choice in a 16gb SD card to leave in the notebook all the time instead of a flash drive. Any suggestions on a good choice?

Never had a problem with Sandisk minus the U3 stuff but thank goodness for removal tools. They always cost more but are worth it IMO.

If its just for storage then get a class 10, Sandisk extreme is top of the line at 30mb/s but its also at triple the price compared to other ones. Sandisk ultra II at 10mb/s 32GB would cost you about $50, and $150 for the extreme. I think the 16GB extreme is like ~$80, and maybe $30 for the Ultra II

I've been using a 16GB SD card in my T500 at all times, to store my music collection. Since I rarely bulk-move files off the SD card, I just got an inexpensive Class II one - 16GB only cost me $20.

With how much of a commodity SD cards (and other flash memory cards) have become, I'd say you're fine with pretty much any of the major brands - given the same specs, they're all the same, just get the most inexpensive. Mine's a PNY card.
