I'm sure you could find better deals, but then you risk going with a company whose reputation may not be quite as good as newegg's. If you wanted to go super-cheap go on eBay... but then the risk you take is exponentially larger than if you go with an established company. I want to know that I am getting what I ordered (vs a knockoff) in a reasonable amount of time and newegg does that for me.

I have checked a few places and I find that Newegg is pretty good with their prices on memory if you get free shipping and rebates. I would also check out Frys. I have found them to be pretty good with memory prices as well, but their shipping price can be high.

Newegg is great for big stuff they screw you on cables, fans. I believe they still charge shipping per item even if it in one box.

Zipzoomfly, TigerDirect, Superbiiz/Ewiz, are all great alternatives to Newegg.
The price of DDR and DDR2 memory is so cheap anyways, so its not like youre being ripped off.
My bro bought DDR2 memory when it just came out for $375 (2x1Gb) and now its only $10 on newegg.
A single 2Gb card should only be about $25.

You can also check places like Crucial and Kingston; sometimes they have pretty good deals too. For instance, I was able to get a 4GB kit of 800MHz DDR2 for $32 + free shipping from Kingston. Moral of the story: don't assume newegg will always have the best prices.

Amazon can also be a good place to check, depending on the item/brand in question.
Good place to buy RAM?
