The keyboard in my 12" netbook stopped working, and I've isolated it to the keyboard. Problem is sourcing a replacement may be an issue. Only place I see it shown is at a site called "Gemwon.com" and it's not in stock and don't even know if the site is reputable.
Anyone know where I can contact that might even be able to source and order the part? I'd rather spend $30-40 for a keyboard than have to buy a new machine.
It has the following:
Foxconn P/N: 550102J00-035-G
Darfon P/N: 9J.N0Z82.B01 Ver:US
It comes up as used on an Asus (my system is a Hannspree) as well, but doesn't say which Asus, otherwise I'd search for that specific Asus model replacement keyboard.
Thanks.
Edit: It seems it is same as Asus N20. But the actual Fn commands look different.

Tried to reposition the keyboard connector? What brought this up? Did you drop it or cracked the laptop open? I can't believe the keyboard would just fail without a reason.

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
eBay is usually my go-to source for parts these days. Most of the time parts are cheap and plentiful, but if you've got a relatively obscure laptop, you may be out of luck.

I can find the N20 keyboard on eBay, but it's in every variation except US QWERTY! I emailed the mfr of the laptop (hannspree) requesting quote of a replacement part, but haven't heard back yet.

In any event, my inexpensive ebay purchased, Chinese backlit keyboard has served me well for nearly as long as I've had my laptop. Suffice it to say, you don't need to spend a lot for this part. -
This is like the only seller on ebay and he's from Canada who's got the US layout but I'd ask the seller for the actual part number of the keyboard.

I emailed the mfr and never heard back. I called them asking for a replacement keyboard. I told them my netbook is out of warranty and am more than happy to pay for a replacement. The guy said I had to send it in. I said I don't want to pay for shipping both ways plus labor when I can replace it myself.
He then said he had to "escalate" it. Then said I would need a technician to install it. I again told him my laptop has no warranty what difference does it make? So now he said it will take 2-3 business days to get approval. I mean like what the hell? It's either available or it isn't. Give me the price and ship it if I pay. Done deal. -
Did you try Amazon?
