Looking to spend sub 130 bucks.

I don't need it to be large (160 is good enough), and I want a reliable one.

When you say without a power adapter, you mean that you want one that is USB powered by the notebook?

    Exactly.

I was looking at the WD one as well. Wondering if there are others.

I'd say the Western Digital Passport is probably your best option.

I saw the WD Passport 250gb at Costco for 140 two days ago. I thought about getting it and ripping out the hdd and putting it into a usb/esata enclosure.

They come in colours now too - eg. BestBuy has the 120Gb in green currently on special (usually $10 more than the gloss black ver). 160Gb (in red) is also on special this week.

Reliability is more a factor of user treatment than manufacturing IMHO. Keep in mind not to move/bump it while it's operating.
