    Hi all,

I was wondering which companies sell reputable laptop RAM. i've been seeing a lot of cheap OCZ ram, but wasn't sure if that was reliable or not.

any ideas on g.skill or crucial?

Most people will tell you that they are all the same and to shop for price. Make sure to find one that has a lifetime warranty. Popular companies include Crucial, Kingston, Corsair, G Skill, OCZ etc. I have OCZ ram in my laptop and it has been great, no problems. I ran memtest86+ on each module separately and they passed with flying colors. Make sure you do a memtest86+ on your memory once you get it, to check if it is ok.

most of the ram actually comes from the same OEMs, and are rebranded. Even if the ram goes bad, just get a replacement.

You want 200pin SO-DIMM. What system do you have? Does it support PC-6400 at speed?

I'm not sure what the RAM yet.

when i ordered the laptop, it only specified the amount.

i got the HP dv4t, and wasn't able to find out any more specifics on the RAM. i was hoping i could just get a look at it when i get my computer in a few weeks.

I have been using G Skill for all my notebooks. The ram is cheap and even under heavy loads for long periods of time, the RAM does not need to be replaced.

    DDR2-800 200-pin is the fastest.

DDR3-1066/1333 is available, but there is no point in discussing about DDR3 as it is incompatible with the DV4t. :)

Mushkin has never let me down. It either works or does not and the forever warranty is a great peace of mind.
