    Hey,

    Got Samsung 840 SSD Pro, what should be my first steps?

    Like do I need to do anything special after getting an SSD? Any settings I need to change?

    I am doing clean windows install, but is there anything else I need to do to achieve maximum speeds?

    Dont know much about SSDs and this is my first SSD drive.

    I did nothing with my Samsung 470s (beside leaving 40 GB unpartitioned as overprovisioning, but that's really optional) and they're still going strong after ~1.5 years of pretty heavy use now...

    Windows 7 automatically disabled defragmentation and such, so nothing really to tweak there.

    The only thing I can think of is to disable CPU low power modes (Throttlestop or set to High Performance in Power settings) because it sometimes makes SSDs lag a bit more.
