    Hello everyone,

I got my Alienware 17 replaced, but the replacement came before I sent out the old one. When i powered it up i immediately noticed that the screens were different.

Got some help here on NBR to figure out what panels was in the machines, and found out that the "old" one had an "AU Optronics AUO219D" and the new one have a "LG Philips LP173WF1". Both 1080p 60hz.

I don't know much about monitors, but the picture on the two is clearly different, so I assume one is better than the other.

Does anyone have experience with the two screens and know which one (objectively) is the better one?

Hope anyone can help out, I need to get back to the dell rep asap. :)

Thanks alot for the help, although I don't know enough about monitors to make much of that spec comparison.

Question still stands, which one is the better one?

I would take a LG pannel over AUO any day.. LG pannels are always better...

If you're not sure which one is better, I'd just not worry about it. :)

Let us know what Alienware says should you decide to contact them about it.

Maybe your opinion will change once you've experienced AUO's B173HW01 v4 90% gamut panel.
