well i got it and installed everything...........no picture, so the new bios update we all waited for does not support 1333fsb, im pissed!

i read everywhere that intel motherboards have supported 1333fsb since last year, i guess it wasnt true with mobile motherboards!

am i screwed and have to find an e6700? or can i flash the bios and use the e6850? anyone know?

it has been stated over 100x that there is no way this motherboard, even with a bios update, will be able to hold the 1333mhz fsb.

its the 945g chipset on this computer, which is a max of 1066mhz

although i got a bit excited from your topic name, glad someone atleast tried - and yes you do have to find a e6700 or a e6*00 series processor

ok ok i got this taken care of now, my friend is buying it from me for exactly what i paid (271 shipped) so now my question is, should i got for the Q6600, E6700, or QX6700?

does the Q6600 run hotter or consume more power than the dual cores? is the QX6700 worth it for about 500 compared to the Q6600 for 250ish?

and last but not least....the C90S WILL support the q6600 and the QX6600, right? i dont want to make the same mistake twice!

    No, only the E4300,E4400, E6320,E6420,E6600,E6700,X6800

The quad cores need a different chipset, like the 1333fsb one.

Also, the C90 cannot go higher than 2.93ghz and the E6850 is at 3.0ghz. It pays to read the description of a product you buy you know

And the Core 2 Quad does not perform as good as the C2D counterpart since they are dual core natively, like a single core AMD64 performs better than a AMD64 X2 of the same speed.

Wait for Penryn beofe going to quad core

well if figured it supporting up to 2.93 was a bios restriction, not a hardware one...i guess i was wrong

this being said, is the e6700 worth it over the e6600? they both can only be topped out at 2.93ghz
