Got my SSD Drive...What should I do, and dont do?

    I got:

    Intel X25-M Mainstream Solid State Drive - 34nm Product Line - Solid state drive - 80 GB - internal - 2.5" - SATA-300

I am going to install Windows 7 on it, clean install.

Is there anything else I should do to make performance even better or something I should avoid?

I dont know much about SSDs, only know that they speed up system and reading time.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks.

if the SSD has old firmware, try to upgrade to the latest firmware to supprt Windows Trim.
Use your SSD as a regular drive, but DO not defrag the SSD

    Thanks.

basically TRIM cleans the unused space and keeps the ssd fast.
you can google 'ssd trim' 407000 (approx) results. first one is the wiki, which is a good start ;)

OP, I asked essentially the same question here and got good info:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=440519

I just received the exact same drive and have the same plans for a fresh Win7 install. I don't have the laptop it's going to live in yet, but I successfully flashed the latest 02HD firmware to it using a desktop computer here.

    Agreed.

One thing - don't benchmark it to death - just instal it, treat it like a Harddrive - it effectively is one, only flash based with no moving parts.
