i'm trying to play a game on my laptop. it actually ran flawless until i changed my hard drive from 250GB to 500GB and my RAM from 3GB to 4GB. the problem is whenever i start playing, it seems to hang every now and then. even after stopping the game to return to windows, the screen stays black for a while or sometimes automatically restart.
can anyone tell me where the problem is. i ran the windows memory diagnostic tool to check for RAM problems but none was found.
my notebook config can be found in my sig.

I would go back to 3GB RAM and see if the problem goes away. If so, then you can blame the extra RAM, although I don't know why. Possibly the BIOS isn't properly handling the 4GB.

my notebook in 32bit mode only shows 3GB anyway. didnt actually bring much for 32bit. i was thinking 32bit would get like 3.25 or 3.5GB and 4GB,as usual, in 64bit mode. is it actually a bios problem because even my bios is showing 4GB and in Vista/XP 32bit only 3GB?

If bios is showing 4GB then it is 4GB that can be used if you have an operating system that can use it all.

Just try to take one stick out and see if it solves the problem, then we can go further with the problem solving. :)
