I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 with an ATI Mobility Radeon 7500C 32MB graphics card, I would quite like to upgrade this to a better ATI card. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately No, currently GPUs are built in and there is no easy way to swap out the for another one, which is also why you can't buy a graphics card for your notebook from your local pc shop, as they don't exist. Hopefully this will change next year with the broader adaption of pci-x in notebooks. But you will still have to buy a new lappie, sorry to bring bad news

You could upgrade to a 64mb mobility radeon 9000. You may be able to find this through dell spare parts or on eBay. It will likely cost around 100 dollars.

Thanks for your help, how easy would it be to install a 64mb mobility radeon 9000 if I did get one?

The details on removing the GPU are in the manual, i believe. There is no soldering involved, but you do have to partially disassemble the laptop.
