I have read over a few of the "grinding noise" posts, but none really fit my scenario. Here's the problem:
There is a grinding noise coming from the back right of my notebook, near the fan, graphics card, and graphics card heatsink (NOT the other heatsink).
The following are my specs:
Dell Inspiron 9300 Notebook
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 Graphics Card (256mb)
I have taken apart the notebook, cleaned a massive amount of dust from the fans/heatsinks (looked like small animals) and I am still hearing noise. When I took it apart, I took out each fan, rotated the blades by blowing in them, and didn't hear any noise while doing so. This leads me to believe it may be my Graphics Card or the Graphics Card Heatsink. Is this possible? Any and all information would be helpful.
I am pretty proficient at installing parts, so I am looking to do this myself. I can't seem to locate a Graphics Card heatsink, though. Thanks for taking time to read this!

Question: do you still have warranty?
I had a blown fan bearing (cpu fan) about a year ago on my i9300. It has to be it. I'll pm you later about what happened to me. -
Try re installing drivers I had a similar issue which led afterwards to hd thrashing
