Hi. I used a AIDA to check how many watts are used by my I7-740QM. I remember it took 23W minimum.

I want to know MAXIMUM Power usage of I7 Extreme version CPUs (I7-920XM and I7-940XM) but other are fine too.

    Please post it here.

I don't want to know TDP because it's not what I am asking for. BTW I guess everyone knows that it is 45 and 55

Actually the TDP of the extreme chips isn't fix, it can be adjusted... 55W is simply the Intel standard value for the 920/940xm, but in an Alienware M15x, M17x r2 the TDP is set to 62W by default, which allows the cpu to sustain turbo boost for a longer period, compared to the default setting.

I had readings above 100W, but I can't remember the exact nr. But this was with overvolting and auxiliary cooling :D
