I found my answers.
There is a conector attached into the SATA, just use that into any other SATA HD.
Please close topic.

the connector is proprietary, HP uses a caddy or bracket to attach the connector. just remove the bracket from the drive and you will see the hard drive is a standard SATA. to replace all you have to do is attach the bracket to your new drive.

Those HD brackets are used in a lot of laptops (help protect the drive and laptop). Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing though, can you post a picture? That would be worth a thousand words...

This has been covered MANY times before (at least once earlier this week even), please use the forum search.
Just reuse the one from your old drive, or buy a new caddy kit from HP. It's proprietary and specific to this notebook. Many (most?) manufacturers use a proprietary drive caddy.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Don't edit the original post like that. So you figured it out, good for you. Leave the info there so maybe the next person will find it and it will help them out. If you have an update or another thought, post a reply to the thread. That's the whole point of a message forum.
Editing is to fix typos or to add extra info to something like a guide.
HD SATA in HP is NOT standard conector ?
