    Howdy Folks!

I am looking to Upgrade my Hard Drive from 320gb 5400rpm to something like 500gb 7200rpm or faster.

My Budget is about $200.00. If I could get something awesome for $150 i'd be stoked!

I have the base Model of a Sony Vaio AW. I do moderate Gaming, videos, music downloads etc. Need a bit more speed.

What Brands and size do you suggest? Do you think Frys is the best place to buy it?

Are the Graphics Cards upgradable on these things? I have a GeForce 9600M GT. Don't know if it can be removed though.

Thanks for your ideas! And this site is Awesome. Great info and support. I have been lurking for a while, now I finally have a question to ask!

    Thanks again. :)

Do you care more about speed or about size of the harddisk?

If you care more about speed, I'd suggest you to look for a "Western Digital Scorpio Black", available with up to 320 GB of storage. Also, I heard that the Momentus causes stronger vibrations, resulting in more noise.

Usually, graphics on Laptops can't be replaced. I think there are some exceptions, but as far as I know the Sony AW Series is not one of them.

The Seagate 7200.4 500GB is outperformed by WD5000BEVT and WD3200BEKT in real life.
