Hey i just bought 2 new hard drives for my hp dv8000

They are both samsung hm250HJ's and are running in a raid from within windows 7 professional

Anyways when running HD tune and reading the health tab both hard drives have an error for " Calibration retry count "

    Current: 100
    Worst: 100
    Threshhold: 0
    Data: 2
    Status: warning

Is this something i should be worried about? These are brand new drives.

Try HP's built in diagnostics, though you might have to disable RAID. Sometimes RAID controller will give funky results for diagnostics.

There are more than a few results if you search for "samsung hm250HJ calibration retry"

Try running the samsung ES-Tool utility diagnostics SAMSUNG Hard Disk Drive

At this point I would keep an eye out for that value increasing. It could be a sign of a defective drive, or maybe it's just a weird tendency of the drive itself.
