Hi,
I have a ThinkPad T40, currently with a 40 GB HD. I have a faster (5400RPM) and larger (100 GB) 2.5 HD that will fit in there, but I need to know how to go about transferring my data to it. The unit is a refurbished business notebook and did not come with any discs. Everything is stored on the HD, with a recovery partition hidden on it.
I'd really like to do this myself and avoid having to pay anyone to do it. Thanks!

In other words, what you need is a 2.5" external HD enclosure. You can put your HD in the enclosure and hook it up to your PC via USB or Firewire or cardbus or expresscard depending on the enclosure and use it as an external hard drive.
HD switch
