so a friend of mine (he's a ninja) has an old compaq presario 2100 and the HD died on him, naturally he would like to replace it with a new one. im not too certain what type of drive would be a suitable replacement.

the existing dead one is a Seagate 30 GB AT Model: ST93015A

im guessing that means its an ATA drive, or is AT a different older type? also is there any way to tell how big he can go without the bios saying "no"? anything else i need to know before i talk to him? like i said he is a ninja so id rather not make him mad or he might totally cut off my head

    thanks

It should be just a 2.5" ATA drive so any ATA replacement should work.
