It is a 600YGR, it has a 40gb, Ultram DMA 100, 4200RPM drive. I am getting it ready for an extended trip and it is starting to make untoward noise, figure better swap it now.
I don't need anything bigger, maybe 60 gb, a little more speed wouldbe nice (5400), but reliability is very important.
Any suggestions??
Thanks

I recommend the Western Digital Scorpio 60GB 5400RPM drive, with the 8MB cache. Extremely quiet, no seek noise - and they run cool. I have a Scorpio, no problems.
Find it here:

Be sure that you get the one with the 8MB cache and not the 2MB.
Cheers!
