    Hello, rogerlewis, welcome to NBR.
Can you tell me if the connector on the motherboard is the same size as the one on your HDD? You can check this by plugging the end that normally goes to the HDD in the motherboard.
If it is, then you can replace your broken interposers with one 44pin IDE female to female ribbon.

    Here are two links:

Could you give us a better picture of the proken part of the pin header PCB? Perhaps you could fix it by soldering?

Yes, so finding a replacement cable shouldn't be too hard. Finding a replacement PCB could prove to be harder.

That's why i asked him to check if he has the same 44pin IDE layout on the motherboard so he can replace both parts with a female to female ribbon ;)

Hi Guys thanks for the quick response the photo is an old one and i'm afraid to say the connector on the right has completely come apart and is beyond repair as you can see by the photo there are 44 pins on the top and on the edge that pushes on to the motherboard has 50 holes but is a lot smaller. I have got a 2.5 inch 44-Pin Female to Female IDE Laptop Cable but it does not fit the motherboard. thanks again Roger

In this case it must be a 1.8" IDE connector and your broken part is actually a female IDE 1.8" to male IDE 2.5" interposer, pretty hard to come by.

Try to look for a 1.8" 50pin female to 2.5" 44pin female cable (ribbon etc) or a 1.8" female to 1.8" male + 2.5" female to 2.5" female combination.
