I've been using my new 5400 Seagate HDD for about a week now. I replace my old 4200 HItachi. Here are the positive as well as negative results that I have noticed:

    Positive Results:
    1. Faster loading of most of my applications especially photoshop and similar heavy duty apps.

    2. Improved multitasking.

    Negative Results:
    1. I can feel a little bit the HDD spins on my lappy. With my 4200 i didn't feel the HDD spinning. I don't know if this is normal with 5400 HDD.

    2. NO noticeable difference in boot time... Sometimes i feel that my old 4200 is much faster with regards to boot time. Again i don't know if this is normal.

    3. since i used this new HDD, my antec notebook cooler seems to be losing enough power for it run normally.

    4. Reduce my battery power to 20%.

BTW, i tested my new HDD with "drive inspector" program and it reported that my HD is in good status. But it also reported that it's reliability, performance, and error resistance are only about 50-55%. This is a new HDD. Is this normal?
