I'm planning to get a larger HDD I can keep more of my FRAPs'ed material. Do you guys have any suggestions on good 500GB+ drives that cost less than 150$? I'm also looking for some good RAM(1333mhz, 204pin). Would 8GB make a big difference compared to 4GB when using FRAPs and light editing?

Suggestion for your hard drive: Seagate Momentus XT 500GB costs about $120. It's a fast HDD with 4GB SSD cache. The 4GB SSD cache is used for the most often loaded files. This will allow your system to boot and launch applications as fast as a SSD.

If you really need more than 500GB, get the 640GB Seagate 5400.6.

I don't think you'll receive any benefit from more than 4GB RAM.

For light editing, I would stick with 4 GB. Long videos with complex transitions will benefit from more memory, but simple cuts won't take too long to render on 4 GB.

consider the $119 500GB Seagate Momentus XT.. almost has SSD performance... also for editing , more the RAM , it helps but really 4GB is plenty..
