    Hi,


    where can one see what speed the harddrive is capable of. I can only find info on the make and model, but not the speed.

    There is no actual speed rating for data transfer. What is marketed is the RPM speed. But you can estimate or just check out reviews.

    What HDD are you looking at?

    I basically want to ensure they did put a 7200 rpm drive in, as I ordered.

    You can get the model number from "device manager" or by using any software that can detect your HDD, such as HD-Tune and then google that to make sure of the specs. Or just indicate the model number here and someone will be able to tell you what you have
