My friend has an older dell laptop, maybe like a .80Ghtz processor pentium, --- the computer is not in front of me or I'd give a better description-- well the lcd light for the screen went out and you cant see anything--- you can see a little if you hold a flashlight on it--- we hooked up her desktop monitor but it defaults to a multiple monitors mode---- i went to display settings but cant find out how to disable this mode (there were two option under monitor selection 1. default monitor 2. multiple monitors--- neither deactivates this feature) --- i went into the advanced settings too and found nothing there either--- now she can drag things from the bad monitor over but obviously thats a pain--- anyone know i can disable this feature and make the plug and play monitor the ONLY monitor working

    thanks

There should be a key on your keyboard with a little window icon on it (probably one of the function keys i.e. F1 to F12). Hold down the Fn key on your keyboard and press that key. That should switch the monitor mode to Clone, which means both screens will display the same interface.
