Hey guys,
I just bought a new replacement battery for my toshiba u300 off and ebay and was experiencing some really odd things. It's 4400mAH and after following the recommended calibaration techniques recommended, I get huge increases in battery wear. First charge, it was at 0%. Second full charge, 15%, third/fourth charges, stays at 18%.
I am getting these measurements from mobilemeter and is seriously worried if I am doing the calibration steps wrong in a new battery and is afraid I might have messed up the new battery all together. In comparison to my original battery, the old one only shows 4% wear.
Oddly tho, it takes a lot longer for battery to finish the last 10% when charging than my original one.
Do you guys think this is a severe issue or would the measurements not be accurate? Did I do something wrong during the calibration or something? Please help!

Did you buy a real Toshiba battery or some generic piece of crap? If it is the latter, then most likely the battery came defective.

Is this a Lithium Ion Battery?, If it is, your draining the battery completely is damaging the battery.
Calibration techniques that involve draining the battery completely benefit NiCad & NiMH batteries, not Lithium Ion. -
I don't have the answer tell us more about battery as asked. -

taht is the link to the battery i bought. any helps? new updates, i tried another discharge, the bloody thing increased to 21% now. at this rate, my battery is going to be gone in a week! 1st charge, i got 2 hours and 10 minutes out of it, now, it's just barely making 1 hour 30 minutes. -
ahh cheap knock off...should explain it.

then buy a REAL BATTERY from TOSHIBA -
is it cuz the battery is physically decomposing or is it the faulting ACPI inside it? it's kinda hard to send back since it took like 1 month to ship here and i am somewhat reluctant to ship it back again...
any way to fix it? -
Not really a way to fix it. Just next time buy a real oem battery, i cant stress that enough. Aside from not preforming great, they sometimes even pose fire hazards as well.
