Hi everyone! Imp new to the forum and I was just curious about a few things. First - I have a TOSHIBA M35X S109 with an INTEL 855GME chipset and a Celeron M 330. I really want to get a Pentium M 745 but I'm not sure if it will work because it is 90nm and my Celeron is 130nm.

So... are these two chips interchangeable and will I need a bios upgrade to do the swap (I guess I would have to find a bios off a M35X that has Pentium M and flash mine with it)?

Any other info you think I should know I’d love to hear.
    Thanks

    JP

Don't worry about the 90 nm and 130 nm, you are not going to see any difference physically so a M 745 can be plugged in to the M330 socket. BIOS is what you need to worry about. I believe there are M35s that use P-M processors, so I an pretty confident you can find a proper BIOS, if the M35 you have does not support them already.

Were you successfull in installing the new chip ? How do you crack this laptop open ?

On most laptops, the power-button-board comes off and then you can opne the keyboard. But on my M35X, I could not even remove the power-button board.

I just wanted to install a WIFI MiniPCI card.
