I need some help i was thinking on buyin An HP intel centrino dualcore with 1.83 ghz and 4GB ram but i am not sure if that diference between RAM and the GHz will be fine...

i m not sure if buying that or just lookin for another pc with 2.4ghz and like 2gb ram.

which you think will work better? take into account 1.83GHz and 4GB Ram is cheaper and that its easier to upgrade the 2GB Ram than the 1.83GHZ.

Depends what you will be planning to do with the laptop...

Are you going to be doing anything incredibly memory intensive? If not go with the 2GB RAM and the faster processor.

32-bit operating systems can only use around 3GB of the RAM, so 4GB is overkill.

I would get the faster CPU. As you have observed, upgrading the CPU is more difficult and expensive. With the RAM you can swap a 1GB module for 2GB.

More GHz as John suggests, you can't easily upgrade your CPU and RAM is easy to install, just pop it out and put a new chip in, I don't think it's too expensive either!

Well, there are alot of factors that go into this. Like, it would help to have more info on the exact CPU model. For Example, a P4 @3.2ghz will get completely destroyed by a Core 2 Duo @ 2ghz. Also, it depends what exactly you will be doing on your lappy. However, its better, in most cases for non-gaming users, to just opt for the more ram. But it would help greatly if you could fill out a FAQ. Good Luck ;)

I would also say to get the faster CPU.

You can always upgrade to more RAM later.

Go for the 2.4GHz C2D and 2GB ram with a x64 OS if possible....You can upgrade the ram to 4GB, and get a faster HDD....!!
Also, you need a good GPU for quality gaming..!!

More ram would help you with more multi-tasking....Since data will be stored in the active memory..!!
A faster HDD will help you with better loading times....due to faster read/write times..!!
A fast CPU will prove to be a boon for CPU-intensive tasks and increase the physics realism in games..!!
And a GPU provides the graphics for games and 3D drawing & designing....!!

Ya, I think I vote the faster cpu, and then upgrade the ram later. 2gb should be sufficient for now. Unless you are doing some really heavy stuff, you shouldn't ever use more than 2. it will just make your PC more "Future-proof".

Depending on what the laptop was going to do, but if they are both the same price go 2.4 2gb because ram is always alot cheaper to upgrade yourself rather then through the vendor.

I'd also go with the 2.4 GHz CPU. Ram is dirt cheap, and if you want to upgrade later, it's a much more viable solution than swapping processors.
