HELP!PLEASE! I have a bog standard spec Acer 5920g with 4 gig ram,250 gig HD & Blu-Ray/CD/DVD drive running Windows Vista, that I bought about month ago and is now about 15 months old.The problem is that the BluRay,CD/DVD drive has suddenly stopped working in the last 5 days!I bought a new printer at the weekend and although have installed it basically via windows I can't install the full software because the dvd/cd/bluray drive has stopped working for some reason. When I go into device manager I can see that there is a problem as the yellow question mark is showing.I get a message saying that Windows can't load the driver for this device and the driver maybe missing(code 39)so I try to update the driver and it tells me that the best driver is already loaded.Next I tried un-installing it and then re-installing it,still no luck!I then tried a system restore back as far as I could-still no joy.Can anyone please suggest to me what I can do to get it working again? The rest of the laptop is working fine-internet etc. I'm actually writing this email on it with a non-working disc drive so I could download new drivers from a website if need be?This is my third Acer laptop in 5 years and I've never had a problem with my earlier models,I just upgraded as they got a bit old in the tooth so am very suprised that this one is giving me trouble. As I'm in my mid-fifties and self taught on computers, with a basic knowledge only can you please give me advice in suitable terms that I will understand-not too technical please! As a final thought-I have not got a Vista disc to re-install it with as the system was originally supplied by Acer with Vista pre-loaded,so I can't just reinstall my o/s and hope that it picks up the drive.I do have an XP disc from my 2.5 year old 5633 wlmi that is virtually identical except for slower dual core 2 chips, smaller HDD and less memory and this has a dvd/cd drive not bluray and maybe Vista is needed for the drivers? I would happily convert this 5920g to Xp as I can't get on with vista(not used to it and know XP from years of use) so it's not important for me to have Vista-am going to get Windows 7 for Xmas from my son.I'm very sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum or section but am going crazy trying to get the problem sorted out.Any helpfull advice will be most gratefully recieved!!THANKS in advance Michael
