    Hi,

I have an Asus A8Jm with an optical SPDIF port. Can someone recommend a surround speaker system that accepts this type of audio input? Or is there some kind of SPDIF surround sound decoder that will output using the usual RCA wires? Thanks.

That is a digital optical audio out. Usually receivers that you find in home theaters have these inputs. It will be very hard and costly to convert this signal into analog stereo audio.
