Hello. Intel has the Matrix Storage Manager listed for the HM55 instead of the Rapid Storage drivers. Could anyone please recommend which package to choose for AHCI one hard disk configuration? Is Rapid the updated release of Matrix drivers? Thanks!
By the way I've installed and run without issues the Rapid drivers unfortunately executed no performance comparisons.

Rapid is newer ver of the old matrix drivers, you should use the Rapid drivers instead..No reason to move backward.

there is a debate and research going on in the forums with people with the HM55 and PM55 chips. People with SSDs appear to have a negative affect on the 64k and 512k file rates. instead of getting 100s of MBps they get like 40ish MBps. If you got an SSD i recommend you going through the search and search SSD and PM55

Sorry, I'm new to this whole thing about AHCI drivers- so if his questions was answered I apologize but I'm not seeing it. Wasn't he also asking which specific drivers to use?

I'm having a similar issue where I'm adding XP side-by-side with win 7 on my toshiba p500 w/ HM55 chipset. I'm trying to figure out which of the entries under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers I Need to set the driver for (I don't have anything that looks specific, just 2 "primary ide channel", 2 secondary, and 2 "standard dual channel...". as well as which driver to choose. When I try to manually install the drivers for one of those it gives me a big list similar to the one posted by the OP, but i'm not sure which one to choose. Apparently once I chose the wrong one and got a bsod. Everything was ok when I rebooted, but I'm obviously in over my head here.

The reason I want to install the AHCI drivers post-install is so I don't have to keep swtiching between compatibility and ahci mode in the bios every time I want to change which OS i'm booting into. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
