Hi,
I've got an used HP 550 with a Celeron M 530 and I tried to upgrade it:
i've read HERE on THIS page here that its possible to upgrade the GLE960 with cpus with FSB800 or FSB667.
I've got an T7500 (800mhz FSB) first (used for about 5$). the problem is, if you run WinXP with it, everything works great! even 1 hour prime95 @75°C max without any problems. UNLESS I install all drivers.. I tried serveral linux distros as well (Lubuntu 13.04 and 13.10, mint 9), but most of the time, it crashes when showing up the desktop. the strange thing is, most of the time! there is a about 10% percent chance to work properly for !hours! Even minecraft, assault cube, glxgears and everything else I tried..
I thought "ok, maybe 800mhz is to much for the chipset.." so i bought a T5450 with FSB667 (5$ as well^^) but same problem here! but the problem still occurs..(the chance to work properly actually raised to about 20%) I flashed bios to the latest version available.. didn't work..
Do you have any suggestions? might buying 533mhz RAM help (installed 2x 1GB ddr2-667)? Or do I have to buy another CPU with 533Mhz FSB? (is there a dual-core?) I dont want to stay with the single-core celeron which hasnt even speedstep![]()
I'm sorry for any grammar-mistakes ;P (english is not my native language)
I'm sure you can helpThanks!

I've been messing around with a dual-boot with WinXP and Linux Mint 9. Everything works perfectly, until installing the graphics driver.
Any ideas? Might buying DDR2-533 RAM or FSB533 CPU help? What's your opinion?
EDIT: I think, after doing lots of research I found the (possible) solution for my problem! → here ←
It seems to help, as I expected, if I would slow down the RAM to 533MHz! I will try it, when my RAM arrives. I'll post the result.
EDIT2: YES, USING DDR2-533MHz RAM FIXED IT!
