Greetings, I am wanting to upgrade my HP 9310us from a 120 GB HDD to a 320 GB I bought new. My question is this. If I have all the factory installation disks, and install the blank new HDD, will the system boot and start to install the factory software?

I am not sure if I must first save any of the drivers, or anything to get it up and going. Thank you and the OS is Vista Home Premium.

    Mike

It should. A better solution, however, would be to put the new drive in an external USB enclosure and then use something like Acronis True Home Image 2009 to clone the existing installation over to the new hdd. Once that's done, swap the drives and the new drive should boot just fine.
