HP dm4-2180us
Windows 7 64-bit
Hello everyone,
I ran HP Battery Check and have noticed a very peculiar pattern.
HP Battery Health Center is where I downloaded from.
When my AC Adapter is plugged into the computer, HP Batterry Check tells me that my battery needs replacement with Failure ID "00000-00000-00000-00000-00000." However, when my AC Adapter is NOT plugged into the laptop, HP Battery Check says my laptop's battery is "OK."
HP sent me a new battery. It did not fix the error message.
HP sent me a new AC adapter. It did not fix the error message.
My battery and AC adapter seem to be working JUST fine! I get my 5-7 hours of battery life which is what I expect. All charging works fine with the AC adapter.
What could be the issue? Software bug on HP's side?
Some people have told me that my computer's electrict circuitry/wiring could be messed up but if that were the case, wouldn't my computer be experiacing real hard issues?
Also, when my battery is fully charged and my computer is running on sole AC power, the battery check will say "OK" even if the adapter is plugged in.
So basically, HP Battery Check ONLY says "Replace" when my battery is charging.
Thank you all!
