    Hi,
A couple of months ago I bought an HP dv9700t 17" laptop and paid $1000 for some nice components after the $500 off coupon. And it's great. I really like it. But the other day I created a self portrait in Adobe Illustrator and it came out looking good I thought. But when I brought it up on the Apple monitors at school I could see there was quite a difference in the colors displayed. The colors were brighter and some were more prominent, especially in a rainbow gradient I used. I don't think this was an Apple vs. PC issue but a brightness issue. I have 3 CRT monitors including one 21" Trinitron and 2 19" LGs, but they're old. I bought the Brightview 1680 X 1050 higher resolution display but passed on the Ultra BrightView which was $100 more with a 1440 x 900 resolution. Now it turns out HP is no longer offering this laptop with the Ultra BrightView display. Not sure why they pulled it or whether they have any plans to bring it back maybe at a higher resolution. I'll no doubt buy an LCD here shortly to work with at home. Probably a 22" to 30". Any thoughts on any of this? :)

The Ultra Brightview is dual-lamp. The option was either pulled because supplies were low or the dv9800 refresh will be appearing soon.
