hi, this morning when I tried to power on an HP Compaq (don't know the exact model number) the power button didn't work.
I thought the battery was dead so I plugged it to AC Power, and the power on led didn't turn on, and nether did the computer, so I unplugged the power, and removed the battery, then I connected AC again and it finally powered on, after entering windows, I shut down and placed the battery again, reset the computer (still on AC) and it booted up normally.
dose anyone know what might have been the problem? (the laptop is 2, o 2.5 years old) and never has had the battery replaced.
Thanks for everything.

It may just be a one time ordeal. Sometimes the power brick is not recognized by the system during the pre boot self check, and that could cause the system not to turn on. SImply replug the ac power adaptor, and the charger will hopefully be recognized.
This does not happen very often, and I have had a similar problem on my dell laptop. I have had this happen about three times in the last year.

Thanks, I think that might have been it.
I'll keep posting if this continues to be a problem.
