  I am totally confused on which motherboard I need for my HP and need someone who knows. Bottom of laptop is the following numbers-DV1000, PR424UA, CNF4501QYO, DV1150us. Sticker on RAM socket of motherboard are the following numbers-31CT1MB0085, 449BVCMBQTF 497uu. Printed DIRECTLY on motherboard are the following numbers-DAOCT1MB6I Rev I. There is NO sticker on the mb with the number ending in -001 as I been told to look for on several occasions. I have been told 367799-001 is correct and also 391884-001 is correct???? I want to make sure I purchase the correct motherboard the first time and need help with these numbers. I have looked at several sellers-but do not get any numbers to match up entirely-For instance 31CT1MB0085 or the DAOCT1MB6I3 numbers don’t necessarily match up to the DV1000, Maybe the DV1000 and the DV1150us are the same, Is there any such cross reference for this out there? Or anyone that knows these motherboards that can help me out please. I did notice on the internet several unhappy users of this laptop due to the A/C power jack, no problem with that, just overheated and yisibly fried a component on the board.

From what recall HP sold the laptop as dv1000 directly. Dv1000 was their CTO model. They also sold preconfigured models named dv1xxx in stores like BestBuy, etc. Should be essentially the same.

Only thing is the laptop used to be out for quite a while - during Banias and Dothan CPU's. Motherboards might have changed a bit in between but i would guess any would fit.

The service manual can be found here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00444244.pdf

On page 3-13 of the manual you'll find a list of motherboard part numbers. A different motherboard may fit, but from personal experience I suggest you get the right one. There are differences in the number of jacks at the front and in the size of the eject button on the card slot (and probably other differences as well).

Excellent, The manual helps a lot, I found one for a different model for opening up the laptop but did not help with the part number. Looks like I MUST go with the 367799-001 which is the Pentium (Centrino) MB for the DV1000 or I sacrifice the Remote control device as well. Thanks again!
