    upgrade was successful and runs much cooler then the old board

    Applying some thermal paste to the CPU and GPU would help in reducing temps and also buying a notebook cooling pad and undervolting GPU and CPU would lead to a big drop in temps..

    i have same computer with same problem and i need to upgrade mine i have no idea how to look up the specs of these boards i cant find them listed anywhere. also would any dv9000 board fit into the dv0543cl? i really want to get one with an esata doubles as usb port like a lot of the newer models in the dv9000 series have would also like to keep my firewire port. and two hard drive bays. as well as a 512 nvidia video but if i can help it get a gt series
