    HP Dv7 i5-460M RAM upgrade

    Sorry for the newb question, I'm sure this answer is obvious to a lot of you but I just bought this laptop back in March and I don't want to risk ruining it already lol. It's also my first time messing with RAM, or any hardware on a computer.

    Anyway, I'am switching from the pre-installed 4GB RAM to 8GB. I know on the Intel website it lists my processors memory types as 800 and 1066 but instead I ordered an 8GB kit listed as 1333mhz. Is it that much of a difference that I could damage my laptop or will it be okay? And the CPU is just going to run it at 1066 not 1333 right?

    There is no difference. The 1333 RAM will downclock and operate at 800 or 1066. Though it is likely that it will operate at 1066 to much the CPU.
