Hello, I am new to the community and and Having and issue with MY HP Pavilion Dv7.
The Problem I am having is that the power connector where you plug the power adapter broke, and so I had to replace it. The part cost's $66 and shipped very quickly. I used the guide to disassemble the laptop and replace the part. Once everything is back together, my laptop still will not power on. The battery is inserted and my power adapter cord works (replaced it). I know everything is connected correctly too. I know that the part isn't faulty because when I press the power button the light flickers on the Power Connector as always, whether anything is inserted or not. Here is a diagram that shows the power connector of my laptop:

So I am puzzled to figure out the problem. The light does not come on when the power adapter is inserted. Does this happen when the battery is shot? Because a few times the computer came on solely on Battery power though.

Perhaps there's something there. Do you have another adapter to try on it?

Did you try it without the battery?
